First of all, standart tours might 
be satisfactory for you to visit the most famous places of Cappadocia. However, 
Cappadocia is not a place to explore within two or three days. In fact, the 
unknown Cappadocia is much more larger and interesting. We may tell you that, in 
order to have a simple Cappadocia tour you need at least fifteen days even one 
month. Or you pop in just for the weekend? Gosh! Cappadocia is being visited by 
the people who have different interest, cultural backgrounds and different 
expectations. Therefore, it seems impossible to organize a tour which will 
correspond everybody. That’s why we have not prepare a standart list for you. 
The list includes places you might like to visit due to your interests. It is 
your choice. During your visit, we believe that the information included in the 
website will be guiding you. 
Turkey
The bridge 
between Asia and Europe
The country, officially called Turkish 
Republic, has most of its land in Asian continent and a small part in European 
continent. By this geological position, Turkey is somehow a bridge between Asia 
and Europe. Since 1923, the country is a secular republic and most of the 
population is Muslim. The capital city is Ankara and some of the big cities are 
İstanbul, Bursa, İzmir, Antalya and Adana. Turkey is surrounded by the sea; from 
north by Black Sea, from west by Aegean Sea, from south by Mediterranean Sea. 
The neighboring countries are Greece and Bulgaria from northwest, Georgia and 
Armenia from northeast, Iran from east, Iraq from southeast and Syria from 
south. 
Cappadocia

in culture tourism 
Cappadocia is a name given to a historical 
region during the first era. At present, Cappadocia region stands in Central 
Anatolia region, in the middle part of Turkey. The region used to cover a bigger 
area during the first era, later on it decreased. Presently, touristical 
Cappadocia covers the city of Nevşehir as a center; historically and 
geographically the neighboring cities Aksaray, Kayseri and Niğde cover the land 
of Cappadocia. In addition to its unique geological formation, with its 
historical and cultural elements Cappadocia is one of the most important culture 
and faith tourism centers both in Turkey and in the world. 
Transport to 
Cappadocia  
It is easy to get to Cappadocia by land from 
anywhere in Turkey.  There are regular bus services from several cities to 
Nevşehir, Aksaray, Kayseri, and Niğde. The region has two airports: the first, 
Nevşehir-Cappadocia Tuzköy Airport, is 30 km from Nevşehir, while the other, 
Kayseri Airport, is 100 km from Nevşehir. Turkish Airlines (THY) flies regularly 
from İstanbul Atatürk Airport and İzmir Airport to Kayseri and Nevşehir. 
Alternatively, Pegasus Airlines flies from İstanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport to 
Nevşehir.  
Transportation in 
Cappadocia 
Transportation within the Cappadocia region is easy 
since the distance between the city centers isn't very large. It is possible to 
take a dolmuş, bus or taxi within the cities.  Most of the tourists rent a 
car, a motorcycle or use an ATV. Bicycle hire can be a good alternative for 
those who are sportier. There are many firms offering these vehicles for 
rental.   
Climate
The 
altitude of the Cappadocia region is around 1100 meters. It has a continental 
climate where the summers are hot and rainless and the winters are cold and 
rainy. The winter starts from mid December and lasts until mid March and brings 
with it snow, while the Spring brings rain. Usually it doesn't rain during the 
summer and autumn months. The region is poor in greenery and the vegetation can

Communication
The communication 
network in Turkey is under the supervision of a public authority known with the 
abbreviation of PTT. By using PTT, you may send every kind of letter, postcards 
and packages to any country safely and economically. There are also other 
private cargo companies providing the similar service. Beside the postal, you 
may also have domestic and international telephone and fax service from PTT. The 
central PTT offices in cities and districts are at your service 7 days 24 hours. 
The other PTT offices can be used in working hours. 
Internet
In 
some of the major PTT offices and in all of the premises that you will be 
accommodating, you will find cable or wireless internet connection. In addition 
especially during summer most of the internet cafes are open till late at night. 
Hospital and 
pharmacy
In the city centers of the region, there are major 
hospitals with the capacity of many of the surgeries. In districts and villages 
there are hospitals and clinics that you may refer in every kind of health 
problems. These structures will be at your service 7 days 24 hours. There are 
also pharmacies serving during the working hours and during the evenings you may 
find pharmacy on duty. 
Working 
Hours
The public institutions are open during the week days from 9 
am to 5 pm. The lunch break is between 12 am and 1 pm. The private enterprises 
are usually open 6 days of the week accept Sundays and their working hours are a 
bit longer. The touristical enterprises of the region almost are not closed and 
they are open till late at night. 
Currency
The 
currency in Turkey is TL (Türk Lirası). The banknotes in circulation are 1, 5, 
10, 20, 50 and 100 TL. The coins are 1, 5, 10, 25, 50 Kuruş and 1 TL. In 
Cappadocia region in touristical enterprises it is common to use US dollar and 
Euro. If you want you can pay in these currencies. In every bank or exchange 
offices in the region your can change the currency you have into Turkish Lira.
