Ayça was born in Ankara in 1968. She studied at Ankara University, Academy of Media and Publication, Department of Journalism and Public Relations. As a student, she took part in theater and cinema and performed at the International Ankara Film Festival. In 1989, she developed an interest in ‘caving’ and then moved on to mountaineering and trekking. She is one of the founder members of Ankara Caving and Protection Association. She worked in different firms in media, public relations, advertising and publicity departments as a Creative Writer. In 1992, she achieved the distinction of being one of the first ten women of the country to complete the Turkish National Radio and Broadcasting Institution (TRT) course on cameraman assistantship. In 1996 she got married to Yavuz İşçen, also a trekker, caver and a mountaineer. Together with him, she travelled and trekked to every nook and corner of Turkey. In 2004, she took the initiative to realize her dream of taking out a regional publication, and along with her husband published the first issue of the now widely read Peribacası Cappadocia Culture and Publicity Magazine. |
He was born in 1958 in Ankara. He was graduated from Gazi University, Faculty of Economy and Administrative Science. Since 1989, he has been one of the sharers of Kare Textile Ltd. He has a special interest in archeology, history, nature and outdoor sports. He was one of the founder members and president of Ankara Caving and Protection Association. He discovered almost 100 caves in Turkey and enabled them to be mapped and included in literature. Some of his researches on caving, mountaineering, bird and fungi species in Turkey and etc have been published. Especially because of his articles about domestic dove races in Turkey and dove breeding, he became known in Turkey. He was the writer of “Outdoor Sports and Outdoor Activities Catalogue”, which was published for the first time in Turkey in 2006. He is an amateur photographer. He got married with Ayça Olcaytu in 1996. Together with his wife, he has been traveling in Turkey and taking photos and at the end he has a photo archive of 5 thousand slides. His digital photo archive especially on Cappadocia has almost 100 thousand photos. Together with his wife, he published “Peribacası Cappadocia Culture and Publicity Magazine” in Cappadocia where he is connected with a passion. |
