We think that examining the species of Cappadocia birds in detailed will bring another dimension to Cappadocia travelers. Even, we believe that one can visit Cappadocia only for bird watching. It is known that Sultansazlığı and Palas Lake of Kayseri, Eşmekaya Reedy and Salt Lake of Aksaray as well as Aladağlar region of Niğde host many different bird species and these places can be accepted within the territory of Cappadocia. Therefore we can say that the birds of Cappadocia can be theme of a whole book. When we title our article as ‘Birds of Cappadocia’ we only researched within Cappadocia region. At the end of our article we listed 46 different kinds of birds only determined in Nevşehir.
Today, in Turkey there are 460 different kinds of birds. The more kinds of birds mean the more responsibility of protecting the wetlands. The birds are the signal for clean and healthy environment. It is obvious that for protecting different kinds of birds in Nevşehir, one of the most touristical areas of our country, even for including bird watching in the variety of activities within the region, we have to be careful.
