A NATURE FRIENDLY NEW ACTIVITY IN CAPPADOCIA

Because of its marvelous natural feature, Cappadocia has become a center of many outdoor activities in Turkey; and now Cappadocia opens its doors to a new activity: cross golf. The activity has been brought in the region by Cross Golf Cappadocia Company, within Indigo Group. The game is being played for the first time in Turkey in Cappadocia since April 2008.

What is Cross golf?
Cross golf was shaped in 1989 by Burton Silver from New Zealand as an alternative to golf which has been mostly popular among the upper class during the centuries. This enjoyable game Cross golf, which does not need any kind of permanent collocations in nature but demands on tactics more, was embraced immediately in UK, Germany, Ireland, Argentina, Scotland, New Zealand and Australia.
Of course cross golf takes many things from its ancestor, classic golf. Mutual respect, delicacy and politeness are on the top of the list. If you are a cross golf player, just like the classic golf players, you need to obey carefully the rules of your clothing, time management and your behaviors on the ground as well as your equipments. These basic rules of golf, based on mutual trust and indulge, valid exactly in cross golf.
The main difference is the play ground. Golf is being played on the grounds which are constructed by serious investments and dressed up by artificial barriers but on the other hand cross golf is being played on totally natural grounds. Therefore we can say that there is an important protectionist approach. During the game, the main principle is not to give any kind of harm to creatures in their natural environments and the second is not leave any kind of trace on the play ground after the game. Even carriage of your equipments is compatible with nature. For example, horses assume this duty during the organizations in Cappadocia.
Besides, during the game instead of holes, the nets and instead of white balls, colorful balls are being used. Because of the difficult circumstances of the ground and because of aiming entertainment more than competition; during the routine games the rule of par is being current.

Cross Golf Cappadocia
Cross Golf Cappadocia Company, which is the pioneer of cross golf in Turkey, organizes everything in details including board and lodging as well as providing equipments. In addition, the Company established 5 different lanes to be used in Turkey between April and October. The players are being informed about the lanes before the game by a short tour around. In this way, the players choose their lanes and start the game. Maximum 6 players can play on the same lane.
